U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, posted a series of statements on March 13, 2026 addressing issues ranging from affordable housing to immigration enforcement and civil liberties.

In her first post at 15:30 UTC, Pettersen commented on the housing crisis, stating: “Affordable housing units are disappearing even as rents continue to rise, leaving too many families struggling to stay in the communities they love. But incredible organizations like Mission Arvada are stepping up to support our community & help ensure our most vulnerable https://t.co/LsIMQEtfw3”.

Later that day at 17:15 UTC, she highlighted her legislative record and recognition by a national civil rights organization: “I’m so honored to receive a 100% score from the @ACLU for my 2025 voting record. From defending LGBTQ+ rights to standing up to Trump’s anti-immigrant agenda, we are in the thick of the fight for our freedoms. I promise I won’t ever stop showing up & fighting back against this”.

In an evening post at 20:00 UTC, Pettersen criticized U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in public spaces: “It’s sickening that ICE agents are going into schools, hospitals, & now Boys & Girls Clubs, places meant to be safe for kids to learn & grow. Nothing about this makes us safer. ICE has completely lost the public’s trust & we need to overhaul this agency that is inciting fear,”.

Brittany Pettersen has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after replacing Ed Perlmutter and previously held positions in both chambers of Colorado’s state legislature from 2013 through early 2023. She was born in Colorado in 1981 and currently resides in Lakewood. Pettersen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
