U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, has recently used her social media platform to comment on a range of national issues, including artificial intelligence, student debt relief, and political rhetoric. Pettersen’s posts reflect ongoing debates in U.S. policy and politics.

On December 10, 2025, Pettersen highlighted the growing impact of artificial intelligence across American society. She wrote: “AI isn’t just the future, it’s the NOW. It’s already affecting every part of our society – our economy, our workforce, and our kids.

Our government has to work quickly to catch up to protect Americans and lead on the innovation and deployment of AI.

I’m excited to work with https://t.co/C3gqeH8Rdo“.

Later that day, she addressed concerns over proposed changes to federal student loan programs: “Trump and Republicans are getting rid of the SAVE Plan — the program that lowers your monthly student loan payments based on your income and wipes out the rest of your debt after a set number of years. Student debt is crushing hardworking people in Colorado & across the country, https://t.co/iC41yGmZeJ”.

On December 11, 2025, Pettersen commented on recent political discourse: “The American people are begging their leaders to have the courage to stand up right now. When a president calls for executing elected officials, we must all speak out to defend our country and our freedoms. Trump is unhinged and unwell, and the American people deserve https://t.co/2OYSp7ddS9”.

Brittany Pettersen has served as a member of Congress representing Colorado’s 7th District since 2023 after succeeding Ed Perlmutter. Before her current role in Congress, she was a member of both the Colorado House of Representatives (2013-2019) and the Colorado Senate (2019-2023). Born in Colorado in 1981 and currently residing in Lakewood at age 41, Pettersen holds a Bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
