U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, addressed her constituents through a series of tweets between December 19 and December 20, 2025, touching on national challenges, local emergencies, and military appreciation.

On December 19, Pettersen reflected on the difficulties of the past year while expressing hope for the future. She stated: “It’s been an incredibly challenging year for all of us. But even with the cruelty and chaos of this administration, I’ve never lost hope.

Thank you for being a light in such a difficult time. We are going to get through it together.”

The following day, she provided practical information to residents affected by ongoing power outages in Jefferson County: “Jefferson County has set up a help line to answer questions about the ongoing power outages.

If you have any questions or need help, you can call (303) 271-8911″ (posted December 20).

Also on December 20, Pettersen marked the anniversary of the U.S. Space Force and acknowledged those serving at Peterson Space Force Base: “Today, we celebrate @USSpaceForce’s birthday and give our appreciation to the service members working every day to keep our nation safe in space and beyond.

I’m grateful to every Coloradan working hard at Peterson Space Force Base to keep our country safe and at the forefront”.

Brittany Pettersen has represented Colorado’s 7th district since succeeding Ed Perlmutter in Congress in 2023. Before her current role in Congress, she served in both chambers of Colorado’s state legislature—first as a member of the House from 2013 to 2019 and then as a state senator from 2019 until her election to Congress.
Pettersen was born in Colorado in 1981 and currently resides in Lakewood.
She is an alumna of Metropolitan State University of Denver with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
