U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, recently addressed several policy issues and community meetings in a series of posts on her official Twitter account.

On April 30, 2026, Pettersen commented on congressional funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), stating, “After 76 days, the Republicans finally followed our lead and funded critical DHS agencies without giving a single cent to ICE until we can guarantee transparency and accountability for their rogue agency. We’ve been fighting for this since the very beginning and this shutdown”.

The following day, May 1, 2026, she shared her experience meeting with members of MomsRising: “Loved getting to meet with @MomsRising! These badass moms are fighting for the issues that matter most to families right now – from paid leave to affordable child care & more. As moms, we know how much is at stake right now & why we can’t stop fighting for the future our kids”.

Later that same day, Pettersen highlighted concerns about food assistance programs in Colorado: “Starting today, 9,000 Coloradans will have food assistance ripped away from them, on top of the over 26,000 people who have already been kicked off of support. Republicans are taking food away from seniors, veterans, and families who are already struggling with rising costs —”.

Brittany Pettersen has served as U.S. Representative for Colorado’s 7th District since replacing Ed Perlmutter in 2023. She previously held positions in both chambers of the Colorado legislature between 2013 and 2023. Born in Colorado in 1981 and currently residing in Lakewood at age 41, Pettersen holds a Bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
