U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, recently used her social media platform to address issues affecting education funding, survivors of abuse, and Medicaid-dependent seniors.

On September 3, 2025, Pettersen highlighted concerns about funding for higher education in Colorado: “School is back in session across Colorado including at @COschoolofMines! I had the chance to meet with faculty & leadership to discuss the difficulty they are facing with funding cuts to higher education and the unlawful withholding of funds to their institution for critical”.

Later that day, she drew attention to survivors of abuse linked to Jeffrey Epstein and criticized former President Donald Trump: “Annie Farmer. Anouska De Georgiou. Jess Michaels.

These are the names of just a few of the survivors who are here in DC, bravely telling their stories after enduring unimaginable abuse at the hands of Epstein & other powerful men.

Trump wants to silence them. We won’t let them”.

In a subsequent post on September 3, Pettersen discussed concerns about Medicaid coverage among seniors at Western Hills nursing home: “I heard directly from the staff & seniors at Western Hills nursing home where 60% of residents rely on Medicaid. Most residents said that if Medicaid was no longer able to pay for their residency, they would have nowhere else to go.

Brittany Pettersen has represented Colorado’s 7th District in Congress since replacing Ed Perlmutter in 2023 and previously served in both chambers of the Colorado legislature from 2013 through early 2023. She was born in Colorado in 1981 and currently resides in Lakewood. Pettersen holds a Bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
