U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, posted a series of statements on her official Twitter account addressing topics ranging from the Jeffrey Epstein case to presidential authority and water funding for Colorado.

On August 5, 2025, Pettersen wrote: “No more secrets. No more special treatment. No more waiting. No more.

Later that day, she addressed concerns over presidential powers: “No president, including Trump, should have unchecked power to send troops into our communities. We have all been horrified watching what happened in California, which is why I co-sponsored the Insurrection Act, so no future president can abuse their power, sideline Congress, and”

On August 6, 2025, Pettersen highlighted issues related to federal water funding: “Water is life in Colorado but Trump is illegally withholding $140M for Colorado River projects.

These funds are critical for drought relief, habitat restoration, and Western Slope infrastructure.

Pettersen has served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives since 2023 after succeeding Ed Perlmutter and previously held positions in both chambers of the Colorado legislature from 2013 to 2023. Born in Lakewood in 1981 and currently residing there at age 41, she holds a bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
