U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress and has served since 2023, recently addressed a range of issues on her Twitter account, including gun violence, Memorial Day remembrances, and affordable housing.
On May 24, 2026, Pettersen marked the anniversary of the Robb Elementary School shooting in Uvalde, Texas by stating, “Four years ago today, 21 lives were stolen at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas. We cannot accept a reality where parents have to worry when they drop their kids off at school if they will ever see them again. We need systemic change to end the epidemic of gun violence in our”.
The following day, May 25, she posted about Memorial Day: “Memorial Day serves as a reminder of the immense cost of our freedom. We owe our way of life to the courageous service members who laid down their lives for this country. My heart is with the families who carry the heavy burden of a loved one who never came home.”
On May 26, Pettersen discussed housing affordability in Colorado: “Families across Colorado are getting priced out of the communities they love because housing costs are out of control. I’m so proud to have fought to pass a comprehensive housing package that includes my bills to make it easier to build housing in rural communities, lower”.
Pettersen was born in Colorado in 1981 and currently resides in Lakewood. She previously served in both chambers of Colorado’s legislature before being elected to Congress and holds a BA from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
