U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, posted a series of tweets this week addressing issues related to health care policy, veteran recognition, and the impact of federal budget cuts on local communities.
On November 15, 2025, Pettersen criticized Republican lawmakers for their approach to health care reform. She wrote, “Republicans created this health care crisis and they’re doing nothing but perpetuating it. And there is a very real human cost – people will go without health insurance, some will go without life-saving care altogether, and the cost of health care will go up for every one of us.”
Later that day, she highlighted her participation in an event honoring Vietnam veterans from her district. In her tweet from November 15, 2025, she stated: “This week, I had the privilege of recognizing Vietnam veterans from across our district for their service and dedication to our country. Unlike other veterans who have returned from war, most Vietnam vets have gone decades without ever being acknowledged and thanked for their”
On November 16, 2025, Pettersen visited the Jeffco Action Center to meet with volunteers and staff regarding challenges faced by local residents. She tweeted: “At the Jeffco Action Center this week, I heard directly from volunteers and staff about the reality too many Coloradans are facing with unlawful federal cuts from the Trump Administration and increased need because of rising costs for families. Trump should stop focusing on”
Brittany Pettersen has served in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Ed Perlmutter as representative for Colorado’s 7th District. Before her tenure in Congress, she was a member of both the Colorado House of Representatives (2013-2019) and the Colorado Senate (2019-2023). Born in Colorado in 1981 and currently residing in Lakewood at age 41, Pettersen earned a Bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
