U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, posted a series of messages on December 13, 2025, addressing economic concerns and reflecting on political leadership.

In her first post, Pettersen commented on the financial pressures families face during the holidays and criticized former President Donald Trump’s trade policies. She wrote, “As a mom, I know how expensive the holiday season can be. And it’s even worse with Trump’s disastrous trade war. But he called affordability a scam — the real scam is his tariffs that are going up for all of us right before the holidays. Trump might’ve been able to lie his way https://t.co/HtbdDrmwzn” (December 13, 2025).

Later that day, Pettersen shared two similar posts about her son Davis and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In one tweet she stated, “Davis won’t understand how amazing this photo is until he gets older and reads about @SpeakerPelosi in the history books. As Nancy always says, we do this for the children! https://t.co/4PcxBnk50u” (December 13, 2025). In another post less than an hour later she reiterated: “Davis won’t understand how amazing this photo is until he gets older and reads about @SpeakerPelosi in the history books. As Speaker Pelosi always says, we do this for the children! https://t.co/hmd4Moqtv1” (December 13, 2025).

Pettersen has represented Colorado’s 7th District since succeeding Ed Perlmutter in 2023 after serving previously in both chambers of Colorado’s state legislature from 2013 to 2023. Born in Colorado in 1981 and currently residing in Lakewood at age 41, she holds a BA from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
