U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, addressed her constituents through a series of posts on X in early February 2026 regarding the legacy of Alex Pretti and recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) actions.

On February 1, Pettersen commented on the public narrative surrounding Alex Pretti: “Alex Pretti dedicated his life to helping others, even in his final moments. As his family faces unimaginable heartbreak, they also face a nightmare with the president spreading lies and fear about who Alex was. We must all set the record straight about who Alex was and what is”.

The following day, Pettersen shared concerns from her office related to ICE activities: “My office has been inundated with calls from concerned constituents who are sickened by what we are witnessing right now with ICE – terrorizing communities, ripping families apart, and killing US citizens without any accountability.

Later that same day, she announced an upcoming webinar for community members: “With reports of ICE activity in our district and across the country, my team is hosting an Immigration: Know Your Rights webinar on Wednesday, February 4th from 6:00–7:00 PM.

Everyone in the United States, regardless of citizenship status, has rights protected by the”.

Pettersen has represented Colorado’s 7th District since 2023 after succeeding Ed Perlmutter. She previously served in both chambers of Colorado’s state legislature between 2013 and 2023. Born in Colorado in 1981 and currently residing in Lakewood at age 41, Pettersen earned a Bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
