U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, addressed several legislative issues in a series of posts on her official Twitter account this week.
On December 16, 2025, Pettersen criticized Republican lawmakers for their legislative priorities and stated her opposition to bills targeting transgender individuals. She wrote, “Since Republicans have no plans to make your lives better, they are bringing up their favorite topics before the end of the year to continue to bring fear around people who are transgender. I will vote no on their bills that criminalize doctors and families seeking https://t.co/iNau9paoZV”.
Later that day, Pettersen highlighted wildfire risks in Colorado and announced new legislation aimed at disaster preparedness. In her post she said, “In Colorado, wildfire season is a year-round threat. That’s why I’m proud to introduce the SHELTER Act to help families protect their homes & businesses before disaster strikes. For many in these communities, it’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when a wildfire hits. I https://t.co/jdVIoRJiK2”.
On December 17, 2025, Pettersen discussed progress on extending Affordable Care Act tax credits through bipartisan support for a discharge petition in Congress. She posted: “We have enough Republicans on our discharge petition to extend the ACA tax credits. This is life or death for many in my district & across the nation. Now, we need Speaker Johnson to do the right thing & let us vote. This brings a glimmer of hope to end a very difficult year.”
