U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, recently used her social media platform to address several key issues facing her constituents, including mental health awareness, wildfire preparedness, and election security.
On May 26, 2026, Pettersen shared a personal message about Mental Health Awareness Month: “May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and this fight is deeply personal for me. I lost my brother Justin to suicide over 15 years ago, and I think about him every day. No family should have to experience a loss like that. That’s why I just introduced the Evidence-Based Youth”.
The following day, on May 27, she highlighted concerns about drought conditions in Colorado and their impact on wildfire risk: “As Colorado faces an unprecedented drought, we know all too well that these dry conditions mean more severe wildfires that can happen any time—making planning ahead absolutely crucial. On May 28, Pettersen addressed election security and mail-in voting: “I helped CO establish one of the safest & most secure election systems in the country. Now, Trump is trying to dismantle it.
