Her statements focused on misinformation about SNAP benefits, alleged military actions in Venezuela, and the political response to a recent tragedy involving National Guard members in Washington, D.C.
In her first post on December 4 at 00:30 UTC, Pettersen stated: “Trump and his allies are doing what they always do — spreading lies — so I want to clear something up: if you are not here legally, you do NOT qualify for SNAP benefits. They know this but continue to lie anyway.

Later that day at 01:46 UTC, she commented on reported military actions in Venezuela: “Let’s call this what it is: Trump and Hegseth approved strikes in Venezuela & ordered any survivors to be killed. Now, he’s trying to wave off these crimes as ‘fog of war.’
Pete Hegseth is wildly incompetent & should resign immediately for breaking international law and”.
At 14:20 UTC the same day, Pettersen responded to an incident involving National Guard members in Washington D.C.: “What happened in DC is horrific, and my heart is with the Guard members who were targeted and their families.
But instead of focusing on supporting our Guard and addressing real public safety issues, Trump is now exploiting this tragedy to punish legal immigrants and stoking”.
Brittany Pettersen has served as U.S. Representative for Colorado’s 7th District since 2023 after succeeding Ed Perlmutter. She previously held seats in both chambers of the Colorado legislature between 2013 and 2023. Born in Colorado in 1981 and currently residing in Lakewood at age 41, Pettersen holds a bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
