U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, has used her social media platform to comment on public lands policy, STEM education, and former President Donald Trump’s actions as president.

On May 16, 2026, Pettersen wrote: “Our public lands are everything in CO — they power our economy, they define our state culture, and they make up the iconic landscape we all love. But Trump wants to sell them off to the highest bidder.

The following day, on May 17, 2026, she addressed the importance of STEM skills for American competitiveness: “STEM skills drive growth and innovation to keep America competitive.

Brittany Pettersen has represented Colorado’s 7th District since 2023 after succeeding Ed Perlmutter. She previously served in both chambers of Colorado’s state legislature—from 2013 through early 2023—and was born in Colorado in 1981. Pettersen lives in Lakewood and holds a BA from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
