U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, shared a series of posts on social media addressing both community celebrations and policy concerns between September 23 and 24, 2025.
On September 23, Pettersen extended greetings for the Jewish New Year, posting: “Shana Tova, Colorado! Wishing you all a sweet and joyful Rosh Hashanah. May the new year be filled with hope, renewal, and apples & honey.”
Later that day, she addressed health care affordability in Colorado. In her post dated September 23 at 19:00 UTC, Pettersen wrote: “No family should ever have to choose between putting food on the table and getting the health care they need. Enhanced Premium Tax Credits have allowed thousands of Coloradans to access affordable coverage, but if Congress lets them expire, too many will be forced off their”.
On September 24 at 00:20 UTC, Pettersen criticized proposed reductions to federal nutrition assistance programs. She stated: “Republicans are literally taking food off the plates of our seniors, veterans, & hungry kids. That’s why I’m supporting the Restoring Food Security for American Families and Farmers Act, which would repeal harmful cuts to SNAP in Trump’s Big Ugly Bill. We can’t let our”.
Pettersen has served as U.S. Representative for Colorado’s 7th District since replacing Ed Perlmutter in 2023. Prior to her current role in Congress, she was a member of the Colorado House of Representatives from 2013 to 2019 and served in the Colorado Senate from 2019 until her election to Congress in 2023. Born in Colorado in 1981 and currently residing in Lakewood at age 41, Pettersen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
