U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, shared updates on local healthcare, childcare, and election security in a series of social media posts dated August 18, 2025.

In her first post of the day, Pettersen highlighted concerns about the impact of healthcare funding cuts on rural hospitals following a visit to Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center in Chaffee County. She wrote on August 18: “I had the opportunity to visit the Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center while I was in Chaffee County. While some hospitals are in a better position to weather the disastrous healthcare cuts, far too many will shutter. Even the Heart of the Rockies will be impacted as https://t.co/0om7GiPwie”.

Later that day, Pettersen announced progress on a new childcare facility in Cripple Creek. On August 18 she posted: “After years of planning, Cripple Creek’s ‘A Place for Kids’ childcare center will officially break ground this September. This community-backed project will provide safe, high-quality care for up to 60 children in its first phase, which will be a game-changer for families in https://t.co/I5nUJFf0v1”.

In her third post that evening, Pettersen addressed election integrity and voting rights issues. She stated on August 18: “The man who sent a violent mob to storm the Capitol when he lost is trying to rig our elections again. One of my proudest moments was helping Colorado build one of the strongest and most secure vote-by-mail systems in the country. Taking it away would silence millions of https://t.co/WsB6GFnD9b”.

Pettersen has served as U.S. Representative for Colorado’s 7th District since 2023 after succeeding Ed Perlmutter and previously held seats in both chambers of Colorado’s legislature from 2013 through early 2023. Born in Colorado in 1981 and currently residing in Lakewood, she is an alumna of Metropolitan State University of Denver with a BA degree.
