U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, has recently addressed several key issues through her social media posts, including school safety, federal workforce concerns, and housing affordability.

On February 9, 2026, Pettersen commented on a recent incident at Evergreen High School: “What happened at Evergreen High School is every parent and student’s worst nightmare.

As we worked through understanding what led to this tragic event, there was one glaring policy failure: the FBI requested information from social media companies about a credible threat, but https://t.co/ufU2T7CGZV“.

The following day, February 10, she expressed concern over actions affecting federal employees: “Trump has consistently put our federal workforce on the chopping block. Beyond being some of the people who work to make energy more affordable and conduct groundbreaking climate research, these are our community members, our neighbors who have families to support.

I’m deeply https://t.co/G4Wv84CoHV“.

On February 11, Pettersen highlighted legislative progress on housing issues: “Housing is the #1 financial pain point I hear about, especially in our rural communities. Despite the chaos in DC, I’m proud to announce that my three bills to modernize zoning, boost supply, and expand affordability have passed the House.

We need an all-hands-on-deck approach”.

Pettersen has served as a U.S. Representative since 2023 after succeeding Ed Perlmutter. She previously held seats in both chambers of Colorado’s state legislature between 2013 and 2023. Born in Colorado in 1981 and currently residing in Lakewood at age 41, Pettersen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
