U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, recently posted a series of tweets addressing local business concerns about tariffs, celebrating Colorado’s statehood anniversary, and thanking her office interns.

On August 1, 2025, Pettersen wrote about the challenges small businesses are facing due to federal trade policies: “I’ve heard from small businesses across my district about the impact of Trump’s tariffs on their businesses. They are unable to plan, and instead of trying to grow, some are being forced to stop hiring or even worse. Nick Mueller is our most recent business owner from Evergreen”.

Later that day, she marked a milestone for the state she represents: “Today marks Colorado’s 149th year of statehood.

I’m grateful every day to live and represent the best place in the world. From the plains to the mountains and everywhere in-between, there’s nowhere else like it. I promise to keep fighting to protect our way of life and ensure”.

On August 2, Pettersen acknowledged her summer interns with a message of gratitude: “Huge thanks and congrats to our amazing summer interns! Your energy, hard work, and passion made a real impact on our office and CO-07. We’re so grateful and can’t wait to see what you do next! I’ll be rooting for you!”

Brittany Pettersen has represented Colorado’s 7th District in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Ed Perlmutter. She previously served in both chambers of the Colorado legislature—from 2013 to 2019 in the House of Representatives and from 2019 until her election to Congress in the Senate. Born in Colorado in 1981, Pettersen resides in Lakewood and holds a BA from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
