U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, addressed a range of policy concerns on August 6, 2025, through a series of posts on her official Twitter account.

In one post published at 13:13 UTC, Pettersen highlighted wildfire preparedness funding in Colorado, stating, “In Colorado, we know firsthand the devastating cost of wildfires, and in the hottest and driest months, Trump is withholding the millions of dollars we rely on to make sure our community is prepared. I joined members of our delegation in pressing @forestservice to release these”.

Later that day at 22:15 UTC, she commented on federal policy regarding government spending and social programs. Pettersen wrote, “Remember when Trump promised to eliminate government fraud & waste? His Big Bad Bill does the opposite – explicitly protecting states with the most errors from cuts. It was never about efficiency. It was always about taking away food & health care from the people who need it”.

At 23:30 UTC on the same day, Pettersen marked a significant anniversary for civil rights legislation by posting, “The Voting Rights Act of 1965 was signed into law 60 years ago today, bringing us one step closer to the fundamental promise of our country. (1/3)”.

Brittany Pettersen has served as U.S. Representative for Colorado’s 7th District since 2023 after succeeding Ed Perlmutter. She previously held seats in both chambers of Colorado’s state legislature—from the House (2013-2019) to the Senate (2019-2023). Born in Colorado in 1981 and currently residing in Lakewood at age 41, Pettersen holds a Bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
