U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, posted a series of tweets on March 16, 2026, addressing issues ranging from women’s rights to media freedom and public health policy.

In her first post at 16:20 UTC, Pettersen reflected on Women’s History Month and criticized former President Trump’s policies. She wrote, “This Women’s History Month, I’m reflecting on the trailblazers who paved the way & broke glass ceilings. But I’m also thinking about how far we have to go as Trump’s immoral policies disproportionately harm women. To solve the issues important to working families, we need to”.

Later that day at 20:30 UTC, Pettersen commented on actions by Brendan Carr, then FCC Chairman under Trump. She stated, “Trump’s FCC Chairman @BrendanCarrFCC is threatening media outlets — cover the Iran war our way, or lose your license. Why? Because the truth is that they know the American people don’t want another endless war in the Middle East. This is authoritarian behavior.”

At 21:00 UTC, Pettersen addressed concerns over public health leadership and vaccine rates. She tweeted, “Our public health should be led by medical professionals, not zealots with zero education or relevant experience. @SecKennedy’s rhetoric and policy changes have already had devastating impacts on the vaccine rates – putting all of our kids at an increased risk.”

Brittany Pettersen has served in Congress since 2023 after succeeding Ed Perlmutter and previously held positions in both chambers of Colorado’s legislature from 2013 through early 2023. Born in Colorado in 1981 and currently residing in Lakewood, she holds a BA from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
