U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, recently shared updates on her work and engagements via her social media account, highlighting Labor Day, small business challenges, and mental health initiatives.

On September 1, 2025, Pettersen acknowledged the contributions of workers across various sectors by posting: “Happy Labor Day! Today we honor the workers who keep our country running – from teachers and nurses to service workers and first responders. Your hard work and dedication make our communities stronger and safer every day.

But fair wages, safe workplaces, & the rights of workers”.

The following day, September 2, she reported on visits to local businesses in Golden: “We stopped by numerous small businesses on main street in Golden to discuss the impact of Trump’s trade war on their ability to plan for the future and the impact on their bottom line. Our small businesses need predictability. They can’t plan for what’s going to happen tomorrow,”.

Later that same day, Pettersen highlighted a meeting with Resilience1220 in Evergreen: “So grateful to meet with the incredible team at Resilience1220 & hear more about the lifesaving support they provide for young people in Evergreen.

Thanks to critical legislation I helped pass in the CO legislature, we’ve made real progress in increasing access to mental health”.

Pettersen has served as U.S. Representative since 2023 after succeeding Ed Perlmutter. She previously held seats in both chambers of Colorado’s state legislature over a decade-long political career. Born in Colorado in 1981 and residing in Lakewood, she is an alumna of Metropolitan State University of Denver.
