U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress and has served since 2023, recently commented on major international and domestic issues through her official social media account.

On October 9, 2025, Pettersen addressed the ongoing conflict in the Middle East by posting: “Yesterday, Israel and Hamas agreed to the first phase of a ceasefire deal to end the two-year war that has brought unimaginable suffering for Israeli families and the people of Gaza. This announcement came just a couple of days after the two year anniversary of Hamas’ brutal https://t.co/0ACZ09CIJD”. The post marks an important diplomatic development shortly after the second anniversary of significant violence between Israel and Hamas.

Turning to domestic policy on October 10, 2025, Pettersen criticized former President Donald Trump regarding federal workers’ compensation: “Trump is now unlawfully threatening to withhold federal workers’ backpay depending ‘on who it is.’ Using our federal workers’ livelihoods as political bargaining chips is reprehensible. These are the people who are serving our communities and country, they not only provide https://t.co/oiqzh8XAn4”. Later that day, she continued discussing federal employees’ conditions: “Our federal workers have been demonized since Trump took office and they are now being forced to work without pay, furloughed or even fired. That’s why Sam and I stopped by yesterday to thank some of our local federal employees for their service and delivered donuts and coffee to https://t.co/h9Li5cagpz”.

Pettersen’s advocacy for both international diplomacy and support for U.S. federal employees reflects her legislative priorities since joining Congress in 2023 after previously serving in both chambers of Colorado’s legislature from 2013-2023. She was born in Colorado in 1981 and currently resides in Lakewood. Pettersen holds a Bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
