U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, currently representing Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, used her social media account on March 19, 2026, to criticize federal actions and highlight legislative efforts concerning national security and federal workers.

In a post published at 13:17 UTC, Pettersen stated: “.@FBIDirectorKash fired the agents monitoring threats from Iran. DOGE gutted FEMA, CISA, & the State Dept. Then Trump started a war – this admin is wildly incompetent. The United States has never been more vulnerable.”

Later that day, at 16:00 UTC, she announced her participation in legislative action: “I just signed a discharge petition, which would force a vote on legislation to pay our TSA agents, our Coast Guard, & FEMA workers. Our federal workers shouldn’t be held hostage because Republicans won’t come to the table to rein in ICE’s lawless operations.”

At 19:15 UTC on the same day, Pettersen commented on labor representation for veterans’ staff in Colorado: “Colorado veterans depend on the staff that @AFGENational represents every single day. @SecVetAffairs tried to silence them for speaking up against unfair practices. And last week, a federal court said no. It’s wins like this that give us hope.”

Brittany Pettersen has served as U.S. Representative for Colorado’s 7th District since 2023 after replacing Ed Perlmutter and previously held positions in both chambers of the Colorado legislature from 2013 through early 2023. Born in Colorado in 1981 and residing in Lakewood, she holds a BA from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
