U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, currently representing Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, used her Twitter account on January 20, 2026, to issue a series of posts criticizing former President Donald Trump’s actions both domestically and abroad.

In her first tweet posted at 22:30 UTC, Pettersen accused Trump of self-enrichment at the expense of ordinary Americans. She wrote, “What’s he doing instead? Enriching himself, his cronies, & his family at the cost of the American people. Trump’s personal wealth alone has nearly tripled because of endless corruption, while working Americans can’t afford to go to the doctor or put food on the table.”

Moments later in another post at 22:30 UTC, Pettersen addressed Trump’s foreign policy approach over the past year: “Over the last year, Trump’s reckless maneuvers abroad, from his threats to Greenland to escalating tensions with Iran and the military incursion into Venezuela, have signaled a global expansion of the chaos he brings at home. Provoking allies, undermining diplomacy, and”

In a third tweet published at the same time, she commented on domestic issues involving law enforcement and immigration authorities: “Unfortunately, the cruelty doesn’t end there. The past year has been downright terrifying as Trump deploys the military & ICE into our communities. Innocent civilians have been murdered in cold blood without any accountability. We need to do everything possible to rein in the”

Brittany Pettersen succeeded Ed Perlmutter as representative for Colorado’s 7th congressional district in 2023 after previously serving in both chambers of Colorado’s state legislature.1 She was born in Colorado in 1981 and resides in Lakewood.3 Pettersen is an alumna of Metropolitan State University of Denver.4
