U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, recently posted a series of tweets addressing issues ranging from federal policies on housing and tariffs to constituent services for Social Security errors.
On September 6, 2025, Pettersen criticized former President Donald Trump’s policies while commending local efforts: “While Trump pushes harmful policies that threaten working families & cuts the critical support they need to keep a roof over people’s heads, the incredible team at Foothills Housing Authority continues to show up every single day to expand access to affordable housing.”
Later that day, she highlighted her office’s assistance with a Social Security issue affecting a constituent: “An error by Social Security caused Anette Falvo of Golden weeks of stress and a $31,000 loss from her late mother’s account. After countless calls and paperwork, she turned to my office in Lakewood for help. We were able to recover the funds fully, easing a huge burden during”.
On September 7, 2025, Pettersen commented on the impact of tariffs on Colorado residents: “Colorado families are already paying the price for Trump’s reckless tariffs. One homeowner told me they had to pay $1,400–$2,800 more on a $9,400 water heater — just because imported parts now cost more. Pettersen has served as the U.S. Representative for Colorado’s 7th District since 2023 after succeeding Ed Perlmutter. She previously held positions in both chambers of the Colorado legislature between 2013 and 2023. Born in Colorado in 1981 and currently residing in Lakewood, Pettersen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
