U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress and has served since 2023, used her social media platform to criticize former President Donald Trump’s administration on several fronts over a two-day period.
On May 14, 2026, during Women’s Health Week, Pettersen wrote: “The health & wellbeing of women and families has never been at greater risk than under this administration. During Women’s Health Week, let’s remember that Donald Trump has consistently put us last. We cannot afford to sit on the sidelines.”
Later that same day, she addressed ongoing military conflict and economic concerns, posting: “Trump has dragged us into an illegal war with Iran for 70+ days & today, nearly every Republican refused to stand up to him. Even as Americans are paying $4+ a gallon for gas, grocery prices are skyrocketing, & service members are risking their lives. Remember this: they’re”.
On May 15, 2026, Pettersen commented on immigration policy by referencing academic research: “A CU Boulder study just proved what we already knew: Trump’s mass deportations aren’t helping American workers. They’re hurting them. For every 6 immigrant workers removed by ICE, 1 American worker loses their job. Trump says his cruel immigration policies are meant to secure”.
Pettersen was born in Colorado in 1981 and resides in Lakewood. She previously served in the Colorado House of Representatives from 2013 to 2019 and in the Colorado Senate from 2019 to 2023 before being elected to Congress (Ballotpedia). Pettersen holds a BA from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
