U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, posted a series of tweets on May 11, 2026, addressing concerns about reproductive rights, health care access, and family support under the Trump administration.
In her first post at 15:31 UTC, Pettersen wrote, “Trump is attacking our most basic rights. And while reproductive freedom is absolutely on the line, this fight is about even more than abortion – it’s about hospitals shuttering across the country. It’s about Medicaid cuts that are right around the corner. It’s about whether”.
Later that day at 17:59 UTC, she criticized what she described as misleading resources for mothers: “Is this a joke? Moms don’t need some propaganda website telling them what choices to make.
They need to be able to pay for groceries, health care, and a roof over their families’ heads.
Stop pretending you care about families while making their lives harder every single day.”
At 19:19 UTC on the same day, Pettersen highlighted threats to women’s health care during Women’s Health Week: “It’s Women’s Health Week. Our health care has never been under greater threat than it is under Trump — from reckless cuts to maternal health research to threats against Medicaid and reproductive freedom. Nearly 40% of births in America are covered by Medicaid.
Brittany Pettersen has served in Congress since 2023 after replacing Ed Perlmutter and previously held seats in both chambers of Colorado’s legislature. She was born in Colorado in 1981 and resides in Lakewood. Pettersen earned her BA from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
