U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, has recently taken to social media to criticize former President Donald Trump and advocate for increased access to naloxone, a life-saving overdose medication.
On October 2, 2025, Pettersen posted: “Trump is not only shutting down the government and threatening to fire federal employees but now he’s unlawfully canceling billions of dollars for critical projects in blue states as retribution, including CO.
We have an unhinged tyrant as president.
We’re not going to let him https://t.co/mw50PjdEXh“
Two days later, on October 4, she highlighted her legislative efforts related to opioid overdose prevention: “My mom wouldn’t be alive today without Naloxone.
That’s why I introduced legislation to ensure patients who are at-risk of overdosing can leave the hospital with naloxone in hand. We know naloxone saves lives – let’s make sure everyone who needs it can access it. https://t.co/e2NPxtlYmm“
Later that same day, Pettersen reiterated her criticism of Republican leadership and Trump: “It’s pretty clear to me that we have a toddler in the White House and Republicans in Congress are caving to his tantrums by shutting down the government and even unlawfully withholding billions of dollars in funding for critical projects in blue states.
Trump and his buddies are https://t.co/jsEd4DDdsh“
Brittany Pettersen has represented Colorado’s 7th District since 2023 after succeeding Ed Perlmutter. She previously served both in the Colorado House of Representatives from 2013 to 2019 and the Colorado Senate from 2019 until her election to Congress. Born in Colorado in 1981, Pettersen currently resides in Lakewood and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
