U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, has recently posted a series of updates on her official Twitter account addressing constituent concerns, legislative developments, and new federal funding initiatives.
On July 16, 2025, Pettersen acknowledged the engagement of her constituents during challenging times by posting: “Thanks to the thousands of people who’ve emailed, called, and reached out. I know this is a difficult time but we’ll get through it together. I’m here to fight alongside you. Take a listen as we answer some of your questions here.”
The following day, July 17, 2025, she highlighted her involvement in shaping digital currency policy as part of the U.S. House Financial Services Committee: “Grateful to have had a seat at the negotiating table as a member of @USHouseFSC working to establish long-overdue regulations for digital currencies. Today, I voted for the GENIUS Act because as crypto & other digital assets have the potential to become the next financial”.
On July 18, 2025, Pettersen announced efforts to secure federal support for local projects: “Great news! We just submitted our proposals for millions of dollars in federal funding to support 15 projects across our communities. From funding for affordable child care to our local infrastructure, these projects will improve our lives every day in #CO07.”
Brittany Pettersen began representing Colorado’s 7th congressional district in 2023 after succeeding Ed Perlmutter and previously served in both chambers of the Colorado legislature (Fact 1 and Fact 2). Born in Colorado in 1981 and residing in Lakewood (Fact 3), Pettersen holds a Bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver (Fact 4).
