U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, posted a series of statements on social media regarding federal funding for early childhood education and her concerns about ongoing health care policy debates.
On December 15, 2025, Pettersen announced new funding for a local educational facility: “Great news for families in Leadville! I am proud to have fought for over $1 million in federal funding for the Bright Start Learning Center to expand their facility and services for Lake County families. Investing in early childhood education strengthens our workforce, supports”.
Later that day, she addressed issues surrounding health care costs: “The window of opportunity to fix the Republican health care crisis closes in just 17 days before Americans are forced to foot the bill for their incompetence for the next year. That means families are going to be stuck with health care premiums two or 3x more than last year.”
On December 16, 2025, Pettersen criticized congressional priorities: “We only have a few DAYS to address the Republican health care crisis. And what are we spending time on instead? Republican Leadership is bringing a partisan bill to once again demonize the immigrant community. Let me break it down for you. (1/4)”
Pettersen has represented Colorado’s 7th District since replacing Ed Perlmutter in 2023. She previously served in both chambers of the Colorado legislature and was born in Colorado in 1981. Pettersen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver and resides in Lakewood.
