U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, used her social media platform on January 15, 2026, to address concerns about healthcare coverage and recent legislative actions affecting her constituents.

In a post published at 14:40 UTC, Pettersen warned of the potential consequences if the Senate did not act swiftly on tax credits related to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), stating, “The clock is ticking. Open Enrollment ends TODAY, and the Senate is stalling on the life-saving ACA tax credits we just passed in the House. If they don’t act NOW, up to 110,000+ people in our district could lose coverage. For many, this could literally be life or death. We are”.

Later that day at 18:34 UTC, she acknowledged community engagement during a recent event and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting residents during uncertain times: “I’m grateful to the 8,000 Coloradans who joined our telephone town hall last night. I know this is a very scary time for all of us, but we are resilient and will continue to show up and be there for each other, and I promise to do everything I can to fight back against the”.

Brittany Pettersen has served as U.S. Representative for Colorado’s 7th District since replacing Ed Perlmutter in 2023. Before her tenure in Congress, she was a member of both chambers of Colorado’s state legislature between 2013 and 2023. Born in Colorado in 1981 and currently residing in Lakewood at age 41, Pettersen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
