U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, recently shared updates on legislative progress and political commentary through her social media posts.

On August 2, 2025, Pettersen announced the passage of a provision related to the Town of Silver Cliff: “Exciting news! My provision to restore the Town of Silver Cliff’s unique ZIP Code has passed the House.

Since losing their ZIP Code, Silver Cliff has lost thousands of dollars in sales tax revenue and has led to poor delivery service. It’s a small step to address a change that”. The post highlighted economic and logistical challenges faced by Silver Cliff after losing its ZIP code.

Later that day, Pettersen commented on national politics and former President Donald Trump: “This is the stuff of dictators, not democracies. Trump is a conman, but he won’t be able to con his way out of the economic pain that will be felt throughout the country because of his reckless decisions, no matter what jobs reports he forces someone to put out.” This statement reflects her criticism regarding Trump’s approach to economic policy and transparency.

In another post from August 2, she addressed housing affordability concerns within her district: “Buying a home has become further and further out of reach.

No matter who I talk to in the district, housing is the number one issue that comes up, as many people are unable to put a roof over their head let alone purchase a home. It is essential we come together in a bipartisan”. The message underscores ongoing challenges for constituents seeking affordable housing.

Brittany Pettersen began serving as U.S. Representative for Colorado’s 7th District in 2023 after succeeding Ed Perlmutter ([source](https://bioguide.congress.gov/search/bio/P000623)).
