U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, recently highlighted several local and national issues in a series of social media posts. Her messages covered efforts to prevent fraud targeting seniors, the denial of disaster relief for Colorado by former President Donald Trump, and the advancements in quantum systems engineering at the Colorado School of Mines.
On April 12, 2026, Pettersen posted about an event focused on protecting older adults from scams: “Scammers target Colorado seniors every day. @SenatorBennet and I partnered with the FBI Denver Field Office to host a Senior Fraud Prevention event to help equip residents at Eaton Senior Communities with the resources they need so they don’t get taken advantage of.
On April 14, she criticized former President Trump’s approach to disaster relief for her state: “Trump continues to double down on his retribution campaign against CO by denying disaster relief for families and small businesses still struggling to recover from wildfires and floods. Truly unimaginable the level he will go to punish our state while regular people pay the”
That same day, Pettersen also recognized innovation in higher education: “.@coschoolofmines is home to the world’s first undergraduate degree program in quantum systems engineering, right here in Golden. Quantum computing will make us healthier, safer, and more competitive — and Colorado is leading the way.
Pettersen has served as a member of Congress since 2023 after replacing Ed Perlmutter. She previously held seats in both chambers of the Colorado legislature between 2013 and 2023. Born in Colorado in 1981 and currently residing in Lakewood, Pettersen holds a BA from Metropolitan State University of Denver.
