U.S. Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who represents Colorado’s 7th district in Congress, has used her social media platform to criticize former President Donald Trump and other political figures regarding the ongoing war effort and its lack of congressional authorization.

On March 17, 2026, Pettersen stated that “Trump’s own national security officials are confirming what we’ve been saying from the beginning: there was no clear justification for this war. And now, there’s no end in sight. Even his top counterterrorism official resigned rather than defend a war he knows is unjustifiable”.

Later that day, she posted another message demanding accountability from specific individuals: “Donald Trump, Pete Hegseth, and Marco Rubio must explain to the American people why they’re going to send our sons and daughters to die in a war Congress didn’t approve. They have yet to provide an answer or justification. No congressional authorization. No strategic endgame. No”.

On March 18, 2026, Pettersen continued her criticism by highlighting civilian casualties resulting from military action: “Trump fired the experts whose job it was to prevent civilian casualties. Then he launched strikes that killed 175 people, including children at an elementary school. No plan. No oversight. No accountability. I’m joining @RepJasonCrow, @RepSaraJacobs, and 100+ of my colleagues to”.
