On Sunday, Feb. 22, at 1:05 p.m., Laif Palmer, a former Golden High School standout now pitching for the Cal Poly Mustangs, took part as his team fell 8-3 to the Washington State Cougars in NCAA Division I baseball.
Baggett Stadium served as the venue. This contest marked the third meeting between the teams this season. The two sides have divided the season’s previous games.
Palmer pitched seven innings, giving up four earned runs with three walks and four strikeouts.
Cal Poly will face the Cougars again at Baggett Stadium on Monday, Feb. 23.
