Colorado School of Mines recently issued the following announcement.
Date and Time:
DECEMBER 9 @ 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Mines alumni and community are invited to virtually listen in and engage with student teams from Innov8X as they pitch their solutions to our Department of Homeland Security and Federal Emergency Management Agency sponsors. This national pilot course was made possible by DHS, FEMA Region VIII, Common Mission Project and BMNT.
Innov8X is a pilot course in which Mines students tackle emergency management and disaster mitigation challenges. Throughout this course, students have been applying Mines’ innovation methodology and an entrepreneurial mindset to address a range of critical disaster-related problems – wildfire mitigation resource allocation, emergency power following a disaster, evacuation planning, emergency personnel virtual training, cybersecurity coordination, and community preparedness simulations. Demo Day is the end of the semester event that showcases student teams and their proposed solutions.
