Istock 000010436389 medium

Wheat Ridge issued the following announcement on Dec. 11.

The City of Wheat Ridge Cultural Commission has planned Arts Drop, a scavenger hunt, from Sat., Dec. 12 – Sat., Dec. 19, 2020. Participants will be provided with clues on the Cultural Commission Facebook page which will be shared on City social media platforms and the website in order to find free local arts, crafts, and other fun art-related experiences.

During the Wheat Ridge Arts Drop, Cultural Commission members will place items at local parks, near public art and outside community and city buildings. Photos and clues will be posted on the Cultural Commission Facebook account @MeetTheArtistWheatRidge.

The Cultural Commission is working with the Wheat Ridge Art League and local businesses to acquire supplies to create original art as well as items created by local artisans. The goal of Arts Drop is to connect Wheat Ridge community members to arts, crafts, and other cultural experiences, as a way to increase art appreciation as well as create awareness and support for local artisans, makers, and local creative businesses.

During Arts Drop, the Cultural Commission will be following COVID-19 health and safety guidelines:

  • Wear face masks
  • Wash or disinfect hands frequently
  • Stay 6 feet away from others
  • Be safe and respectful of others
Anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or having been recently exposed to someone testing positive is asked to not participate in the program.
