U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen, who serves Colorado's 7th district in Congress, shared a series of tweets on March 13, 2025, addressing several pressing issues. Pettersen has been an active voice in U.S. politics since her election to Congress in 2023 and has previously served in both the Colorado House of Representatives and the Colorado Senate.

At 20:56 UTC on the same day, Pettersen criticized Republicans for not collaborating with Democrats to secure government funding that would protect veterans, housing, and families. With only one day remaining before potential consequences could arise from lack of action, she noted Democrats' unwillingness to passively accept this situation. "Republicans have spent months kicking the can down the road...Democrats won’t stand by..."
