U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen, who currently serves Colorado's 7th district in Congress, has recently shared her thoughts and legislative efforts on various issues through a series of tweets. Pettersen, who replaced Ed Perlmutter in 2023, is known for her active engagement in policy matters affecting families and public safety.

On March 23, 2025, Rep. Pettersen expressed her concerns about the challenges faced by elected officials with new babies. She stated that it is "unacceptable that in 2025 we still do things the way we did hundreds of years ago." She emphasized the need for change to ensure that these officials are not hindered from performing their duties due to parental responsibilities.

In another tweet dated March 24, 2025, Pettersen acknowledged the sacrifices made by firefighters and announced her support for legislation honoring them. She tweeted: "Colorado’s brave firefighters risk everything to keep us safe—running into danger to protect our homes, lands, and lives." She introduced the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Coin Act as a bipartisan effort to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

On March 25, 2025, Rep. Pettersen highlighted the issue of pay inequality with a tweet marking Equal Pay Day. She noted that women must work longer than men to earn equivalent wages for similar jobs. Her tweet read: "Today is Equal Pay Day—a reminder that, on average, women must work nearly three extra months to earn what men made last year for doing the same job." She advocated for broader implementation of equal pay laws beyond Colorado's existing Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
