U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen has recently expressed concerns over several pressing issues via tweets. Representing Colorado’s 7th District since 2023, Pettersen took to social media to address challenges in the legislative and economic spheres, providing insight into the hurdles faced by new parents in Congress and the broader economic impact of tariffs.

On April 2, 2025, Representative Pettersen criticized the resistance to a resolution intended to allow new parents in Congress to vote remotely. "Our resolution to allow new parents in Congress to vote remotely is meeting historic resistance—Speaker Johnson literally shut down the House to avoid a vote." She emphasized the disconnection between these actions and the views of the majority of Americans who support young women and families.

In a subsequent tweet on April 3, 2025, Pettersen addressed the economic repercussions of tariffs imposed by former President Trump. "While families are already struggling to make ends meet, Trump’s tariffs will be the greatest tax increase on Americans since WWII." She highlighted the expected rise in costs for housing, cars, and essential everyday commodities like gasoline and groceries.

Continuing on April 4, 2025, Pettersen warned constituents to anticipate higher prices for necessities, prompting them to acknowledge those accountable for the economic conditions. "Get ready for much bigger price tags on all our necessities and remember who is responsible."
