Jefferson County issued the following announcement on July 15.
Jefferson County’s Transportation and Engineering Division is working to identify conceptual design alternatives for an approximately ½ mile segment of JC-73 between Buffalo Park Road and Plettner Lane.
In March of 2020, a consultant was hired to complete the current conceptual design phase. This phase is anticipated to be completed by September 2020. Once a preferred alternative is identified in this conceptual design phase, the design phase will commence and is anticipated to be completed in Spring 2022. The construction phase of the preferred alternative is anticipated to begin in Summer 2022 and be completed by Fall of 2023.
Due to restrictions associated with COVID-19, the opportunity to provide feedback will be virtual instead of in-person. Community input is critical to determining what improvements will move forward on this roadway segment. You’re encouraged to visit the project website to view a project video that highlights the existing roadway features and traffic conditions along the project corridor, proposed alternatives, and the intersection alternatives for Buffalo Park Road and JC-73. After viewing the video, please complete a comment form to provide input. The comment form will be available until 11:00 p.m. July 29, 2020.
