U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen, who has been serving in Congress representing Colorado's 7th district since 2023, recently shared updates on legislative developments through a series of tweets. Pettersen, previously a member of the Colorado House of Representatives and the Colorado Senate, continues to focus on local infrastructure issues.

On December 12, 2024, Rep. Pettersen announced that the House had passed a provision she championed to restore Silver Cliff's unique ZIP Code. She emphasized that "The loss of the original ZIP Code has caused postal delays & thousands of dollars lost in sales tax revenue." She expressed gratitude for progress towards resolving this issue.

In another tweet posted on December 12, 2024, Rep. Pettersen highlighted an important provision regarding water access in Cañon City and Fremont County. She noted that "This important provision ensures that Cañon City and Fremont County have access to the water they need for years to come."

Additionally, on the same day, she discussed legislation passed by the House aimed at improving water infrastructure in Colorado. Rep. Pettersen mentioned her role in securing funding for these initiatives: "Coloradans know firsthand how critical it is to invest in & improve our water infrastructure." The legislation includes her provision dedicating $50 million specifically for water infrastructure support in Cañon City.
