Colorado Springs, Colo. – Cody Little has been named the Mountain West Softball Coordinator of Officials, announced by MW Commissioner Craig Thompson on Monday.
Little brings an extensive officiating background to the league after serving as an umpire in six Division I conferences, including the MW, AAC, Big 12, Big Ten, Missouri Valley and SEC.
Little has umpired for multiple NCAA Division I Softball postseason events, including Regionals (2014-19), Super Regionals (2016-19) and the Women’s College World Series (2016-17).
The Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, native has served as the NCAA Softball Regional Advisor, where he selected and assigned umpires for postseason competition on the DI, DII and DIII levels.
As the coordinator of softball officials, Little will be responsible for scheduling umpires and crew chiefs for all MW home softball games, while also evaluating and hiring MW umpires. He will also work closely with Sally Walker, Coordinator of Officials for the Big 12 and Big Ten, in a Midwestern Umpire Consortium.
Little, who also is currently an assistant principal in Oklahoma City, and his wife, Jamey, have a daughter, Collins (7) and a son Canton (5).
