U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen, who serves Colorado's 7th district, has expressed her concerns regarding former President Donald Trump's actions and appointments through a series of tweets. Pettersen, who succeeded Ed Perlmutter in Congress in 2023, has been vocal about her stance on issues affecting both national and local interests.

On February 19, 2025, Pettersen tweeted about the implications of Trump's presidency on Ukraine's independence. She stated, "We’ve always known that Ukraine’s support and long-term independence would be at risk with Trump in office, and every day he’s proving it." She criticized Trump's perceived allegiance to Russian President Vladimir Putin over democratic allies.

On February 20, 2025, Pettersen highlighted her team's engagement with local businesses at a Golden Chamber meeting. She noted the community's concerns regarding what she described as Trump's "illegal funding freeze." In her tweet, she pledged action by stating, "I will do everything in my power to fight back against harmful policies that will hurt Coloradans."

Later that day, Pettersen commented on Kash Patel's appointment as FBI Director. She described Patel as an "unqualified Trump loyalist" and voiced concern over his role in targeting perceived enemies. Her tweet read: "Kash Patel is another unqualified Trump loyalist who is being put in one of the most powerful positions as the FBI Director to make good on his pledge to persecute and prosecute his perceived 'enemies list.'"
