U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen, currently serving Colorado's 7th district, recently shared her thoughts and announcements through a series of tweets. Pettersen has been an active member of the U.S. Congress since 2023 after replacing Ed Perlmutter and has a history of political service in Colorado.
On February 17, 2025, Pettersen commemorated Presidents Day by recalling the influence of President Obama on her political career. "Happy Presidents Day! This year, I'm reminded of President Obama's words: 'Change is never easy but always possible.' President Obama inspired me to get into politics as an organizer in 2008. Today, I'm grateful for leaders like him who push us to build a better future."
Later that day, she announced upcoming office hours in Lake County. "Tomorrow in Lake County My team is holding office hours in Leadville tomorrow (February 18th) from 3pm-5pm! Stop by to get help with passports, the IRS, veterans benefits, Medicare and Social Security, immigration, and more." The event is intended to assist constituents with various federal services.
On February 18, Pettersen expressed her concerns about certain actions affecting Colorado communities. "Donald Trump and Elon Musk are hurting Colorado families, businesses, and communities. We will use every tool at our disposal to fight back against their illegal, reckless, and un-American actions." Her tweet indicates a commitment to addressing issues she perceives as detrimental to her state's residents.
