On February 1, 2025, Pettersen acknowledged Black History Month with a tweet highlighting its significance. She wrote: "It's #BlackHistoryMonth! This month is a time to celebrate the history & contributions of Black Americans. This year’s celebration feels more urgent than ever. Black history is American history, and we must honor it by defending diversity & fighting for progress."

On February 3, 2025, she expressed gratitude towards the Dads Caucus for supporting her resolution regarding remote voting for new parents in Congress. Her statement read: "Thank you, @DadsCaucus, for supporting my resolution to allow Members who are new parents to vote remotely.
