U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen, who serves Colorado's 7th district, recently shared a series of tweets addressing various topics of public interest. Pettersen has been active in U.S. Congress since 2023 after replacing Ed Perlmutter and previously served in the Colorado House of Representatives and Senate.
On February 3, 2025, Rep. Pettersen expressed her concerns about Elon Musk having access to sensitive government data or decision-making authority over Social Security and Medicare payments. She stated, "Elon Musk, an unelected billionaire, should not have access to sensitive government data or be allowed to make any decisions about Social Security & Medicare payments – or anything else." She affirmed that the House Democrats are dedicated to preventing such overreach.
The following day, on February 4, 2025, Rep. Pettersen announced office hours for her team in Florence on February 11th from 3 pm to 5 pm. In her tweet she said: "Attention Fremont County My team is holding office hours in Florence on Tuesday, February 11th from 3pm-5pm! Stop by to get help with passports, the IRS, veterans benefits, Medicare and Social Security, immigration, and more."
Later that day, she expressed gratitude towards the West Metro Fire crew for their prompt response in ensuring public safety. Her tweet read: "So grateful to the @WestMetroFire crew for their quick, heroic action. Thank you for all that you do to keep Coloradans safe."
