U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen, serving Colorado's 7th district since 2023, has been vocal on social media about recent political actions. Pettersen succeeded Ed Perlmutter and previously served in the Colorado House of Representatives and the Colorado Senate.

On March 5, 2025, Rep. Pettersen expressed her concerns regarding former President Donald Trump's rhetoric. She stated, "Last night, Donald Trump’s message was filled with more lies, fear mongering and hate. He might be a convincing conman to some but he won’t be able to lie his way out of the suffering his disastrous ideas will bring to the American people." She further criticized Trump's tariffs for negatively impacting the economy.

Later that day, she addressed Trump's decision to terminate VA employees: "It's disgraceful that Trump would fire thousands of VA employees—including heroes who have bravely defended our country." She emphasized the importance of these public servants in ensuring veterans receive proper care.

In another tweet on March 5, Pettersen highlighted potential consequences of federal layoffs in Colorado: "Federal layoffs threaten thousands of Colorado jobs, our local economy, our public land management." She mentioned having Lakewood Mayor Wendi Strom as her guest to discuss these issues.
